Crawford places this series at 209-208 B.C., which makes sense as Etruria was revolting at that time and Rome had to dispatch legions to take hostages and get the situation under control. This series(and a related series with no symbols) is often misattributed but you can always tell coins of this series by style as the obverse bust is always bug-eyed like this one.
